How sapphire listings are described here

Every stone is described from the supplier's data row: weight in carats to two or three decimals, length, width and depth in millimetres, shape, colour, clarity, transparency, cut quality and a standardized treatment value. Where a laboratory report is attached we show the lab and report number and mark the treatment as documented. Where it is not, the treatment is labelled supplier-reported, and that includes any claim of unheated.

Origin works the same way. Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Myanmar and other countries are recorded as declared by the supplier unless a report specifically supports a geographic origin conclusion. We do not describe stones as verified origin without that document.

Blue, padparadscha, yellow, pink and fancy colours

Sapphire is the trade name for corundum in any colour other than red. Sri Lankan production is known for blue in light to medium tones, padparadscha in pink-orange, yellow, and a range of pinks and purples. The colour field on each listing carries the supplier's own description; the photos and video are there so you can judge saturation and windowing yourself.

Buying through the platform

Approved retail accounts see a price per stone at their own account rate and can reserve directly from the listing or through the API. A reservation holds the stone in our database immediately and is confirmed by the supplier before it becomes an order. Nothing is guaranteed in stock until that confirmation.
