Rubies for the trade
Loose rubies from reviewed suppliers. Treatment is shown as heated, unheated, fracture filled or not stated, with the evidence labelled.
What counts as a ruby
Ruby is red corundum. The boundary between deep pink sapphire and ruby is a matter of grading practice and varies between laboratories, so a listing's variety is the supplier's declaration unless a report is attached that names the stone as ruby. Colour terms such as pigeon blood are supplier descriptions and are not implied to be laboratory grades unless the report says so.
Treatment matters more than usual
Heating is common and accepted; lead-glass fracture filling changes durability and value significantly. Both are standardized values on every listing. Any listing with fracture filling is labelled as such in the catalog, the detail page, and the API.
