Sri Lankan ruby and pink sapphire
Sri Lankan corundum runs from pale pink to deep red, and laboratories draw the line between pink sapphire and ruby in different places. The variety shown on a listing is the supplier's declaration unless a report says otherwise.
Colour names such as pigeon blood are treated as supplier descriptions, not laboratory grades, unless the attached report uses them.
